Coronado Glossy Aqua Bread & Butter Dessert Plate Gladding McBean FranciscanFor consideration is this vintage bread and butter or dessert plate made by Gladding McBean in California in their Franciscan line of pottery or earthenware. The pattern is called “Coronado” and identifiable by the swirled edge. These are in glossy aqua and were made from 1936 until 1954.
The plate measures 6 3/8 inches in diameter. The back is marked and it is in beautiful vintage condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, repairs, scratches, discoloration or crazing noted. Buyer will receive FREE shipping. Thank you for looking!
NOTE:
Gladding-McBean chose the name "Franciscan," feeling it was symbolic of California's early history. Production of Franciscan earthenware ceramics with its brilliant glazed colors began in 1934. Franciscan China was introduced in 1942 with the Desert Rose pattern.
