Amazing Mid-Century Modern Gladding McBean (GMcB), El Patio Turquoise Pottery Chop Plate/Platter, Circa 1934-1954.
This fabulous plate is 16” dia, light scratches on the surface, the glaze is still glossy. No chips, cracks or crazing.
GMcB was able to a patented a clay body type called “malinite.” Malinite’s one-fire clay body resisted crazing, a point the company used in marketing the wares.
