    Description

Vintage 1916 Rare Antique Tabulating Machine Co. Antique New York City. From the research that I’ve conducted in tandem with information provided from knowledgeable buyers, the following is pertinent to this antique:
This was created by the Tabulating Machine Co in NYC. This machine was supposedly invented by Herman Hollerith and was designed to summarize information stored on punch cards and used in tabulating the census taken every ten years. I have also been informed that this could potentially be a checkwriter or check perforator (used to cancel checks).
This antique holds some interesting accounting history to its name. It is in very good condition. It quite sturdy and has good weight to it. It looks like it’s previous owner secured it to a nice piece of stained wood for display purposes. I suppose you could remove it from the wood and secure to a surface of your choosing.
The item is being sold as is and will be shipped with great care commensurate with its fragility.
    Thank you.
