    Description

    For sale is this Vintage Large Heavy Duty Hand Crank General Store Counter Top Register. Made by The STANDARD REGISTER CO. Dayton, Ohio.
    NO KEY FOR THE REGISTER.. Latch removed so it will not lock closed (latch and screws Included).
    This was last used by J. ED. MEYER in Mobridge South Dakota. It comes with old Named Receipts dated 1936-1939. It comes with some (about 40) unused triplicate receipts. All of the others that were inside it were used. By looking at the numbers on the receipts my guess is there’s a few hundred used ones in there. Some of them are legible and most others aren’t. I did add a photo with a list I made of some of the names that I could somewhat make out. Nice piece of Mobridge history..
    This register is fairly large it measures about 22 3/4 inches long X 10 1/4 inches tall by 9 inches wide, not including the handle. Built heavy duty the register weighs about 27 lbs. not including the receipts.
    It has scuffs, scratches, paint loss, oxidation and some areas of surface rust. The handle cranks properly by pushing the button in on the crank, it then goes a full rotation which advances the receipt, then it stops in place. The carbon paper is dried out. There are operating instructions inside the machine. Sorry no key.. Selling this item AS/IS as shown in the photos. Vintage Item NO RETURNS
